More About Tallahassee Developmental Center
Located across from Tallahassee Community College in Florida’s capital city at 455 Appleyard Drive, Tallahassee Developmental Center (TDC) has warm, inviting homes where around-the-clock staff offer personalized support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer specialized medical support for individuals who have physical or behavioral challenges and we work closely with residents to help them set and attain goals geared toward developing independence. We also offer countless opportunities to help individuals learn, grow and thrive in their community.
Family members and friends can rest assured that their loved ones are receiving excellent care, through the 24-hour-a-day support. During the day, residents attend Pyramid, Inc., a highly acclaimed, arts-focused day program, or to public school. We get to know each individual residing at TDC, which allows us to develop an Individualized Service Plan that incorporates specific activities and skills training to achieve personal goals and independence, including participation in and integration into in the life of their community. Residents have the opportunity to visit local attractions and attend community events, including parades, plays, concerts and even the Capitol.
We offer 24/7 medical support in a place that the residents can truly call home. Our medical staff works closely to ensure that each individual receives comprehensive medical and nutritional care and has access to medical professionals in the community as needed.
We take pride in the quality of our programs and our Center and we welcome you to visit us. Please contact our Social Services Director at 850-575-0619.
